Dear Campus Community,
This is a reminder that the University Police Department will be conducting active-shooter training at Brubacher Hall on Alumni Quad (325 Western Ave., Albany) Wednesday, July 6 and Thursday, July 7 .
* THIS IS AN EXERCISE, NOT AN ACTUAL EMERGENCY *
On Wednesday, July 6, the training will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; on Thursday, July 7, the training will run from noon to 8 p.m.
The exercise, which UPD conducts annually, will involve the use of police radios, simulated ammunition and role players. Please do not be alarmed if you hear the training or see a larger-than-normal police presence around the quad. This is part of the exercise.
Please avoid this area of Alumni Quad on both days until after the exercises have concluded.
Regular and robust training is central to UPD’s ability to continue to serve our campus at a high level, and we appreciate your cooperation throughout this process.
Sincerely,
Todd Foreman
Vice President for Finance & Administration
