Background
- Scope and Content:
This collection is made up of issues of the newsletter New York Environmental News (NYEN), covering a period from 1973 through 1988. The magazine itself focused on environmental issues and legislation in New York State. Holdings are complete for most years.
- Biographical / Historical:
New York Environmental News (NYEN) first began publishing in 1973 as a weekly publicaton under the editorship of Rosemary Nichols, a university professor affiliated with the Environmental Studies program. Starting with its third volume, the newsletter changed to a biweekly format. The fifth edition of the newsletter in 1978 saw the newsletter come under the leadership of the Atmospheric Sciences Research Center. After 1985, the newsletter was published by the Office of University Relations. The newlsetter contained information about environmental issues and legislation in New York State.

- All items in this collection were transferred to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.

Processed in 2018 by Miles Lawlor. The materials making up this collection were removed from the University Publications Collection to create a new collection.
