Dear Provost Cartwright:

| write in response to your correspondence of August 11, 2015, requesting registration of an Advanced
Certificate (ADV CRT) in Adolescent Special Education for Childhood Special Educators, leading to Students with
Disabilities Generalist 7-12 certification, to be offered by State University of New York at Albany in both distance
education and standard formats.

{am pleased to inform you that on the basis of our review the program detailed on the attached listing from
the Inventory of Registered Programs is registered for general education purposes under Subchapter A of the
Regulations of the Commissioner of Education (Chapter II of Title 8 of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and
Regulations of the State of New York) until September 1, 2016. After that date, registration will be extended annually
until the Department’s next review is conducted.

Please note that the attached Inventory listing records this advanced certificate program as ineligible for the
Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) and Aid for Part-time Study (APTS). Programs of less than one academic year’s
duration (fewer than 24 semester hours) are ineligible for these State student financial aid programs. The program is
eligible for Vietnam Veterans Tuition Awards (VVTA).

New registration is required for any existing curriculum in which major changes are made that affect its title,
focus, design, requirements for completion, or mode of delivery. Therefore, | ask that you contact this office prior to
initiating a significant change in this program.
