Proposal 2011-2284 Graduate Level Clinically Rich
Graduate Teacher Preparation Pilot Program
Dear Provost Lavalle:
I write in response to your application for registration of a Pilot Graduate Level Clinically Rich Teacher
Preparation Program (GLCRTPPP): a proposed Master of Science in Adolescence: Special Education Generalist,
leading to initial / professional certification in Students with Disabilities Generalist 7-12, Special Education 1-6, and
Childhood 1-6 to be offered by the State University of New York at Albany.
I am pleased to inform you that the program detailed on the attached listing from the Inventory of Registered
Programs is registered for teacher education purposes under Subchapter A of the Regulations of the Commissioner of
Education (Chapter II of Title 8 of the Official Compilation of Codes, Rules and Regulations of the State of New
York). This program will remain registered as a pilot program until June 30, 2014. After that date the pilot program’s
registration ends. If the institution wishes to register a program comparable to the pilot program, the institution will
need to submit an application to this office,
Candidates must complete the program by June 30, 2014. If a candidate cannot complete the program by that
date, the institution must make arrangements for the candidate to complete a teacher education program that leads to an
equivalent teaching certificate.
Consistent with the Questions and Answers provided in the December 17, 2010 GLCRTPPP Webinar, the
attached Inventory listing records this program as ineligible for financial aid.
The pilot programs were reviewed and awards were granted based upon the terms submitted in the
applications and in follow-up communications. Changes to these programs will not be considered.
