Sociology adjunct screeches while being arrested for unplugging pro-life display

Arrested while students chanted ‘f**k the police’
An adjunct sociology professor at the University at Albany can be heard screeching while police arrest her for disrupting a pro-life video display on campus.
“On April 19, U. of Albany sociology professor, Renee Overdyke, was arrested for shutting down our large LED screen and then resisting arrest,” Created Equal’s Mark Harrington wrote on Twitter. “Her swift apprehension by police permitted Created Equal to resume the broadcast of our videos.”
Students can be heard chanting “Free Renee” and “F**k the police.”
Created Equal brings a video display to college campuses and shows imagery what an aborted baby looks like. The university handed out pamphlets that reminded onlookers to respect the group’s free speech rights. The message did not stick with Overdyke.

The campus police chief said that “Overdyke made no attempt to speak with the anti-abortion group or organize speech in opposition to the anti-abortion group’s message,” according to the Times Union.
“It was the adjunct faculty member’s purpose to get directly to the plug,” Chief Paul Burlingame told the news outlet.
“She was arrested on three charges: disturbing a lawful assembly, resisting arrest and obstruction of governmental administration,” the newspaper reported. “She was taken to the UAlbany police station, where she was ticketed and released.”
“Consistent with the mission of an institution of higher learning, we expect members of our community to be able to voice their views in a manner that promotes constructive dialogue and honors UAlbany’s commitment to freedom of expression,” the university told the Daily Caller.
This is not the only time campus police have had to arrest pro-abortion protesters who attacked a Created Equal display.
University of Florida police arrested a grad student leader, Bryn Taylor, in March after she allegedly stole a bullhorn from the pro-life group,” as The College Fix previously reported.
Taylor is a doctoral student in the speech, language, and hearing sciences department, according to her profile on the graduate assistants website.
