HOMEROOM 127
ELECTS OFFICERS

Homeroom 127 has elected new offic-
ers for the rest of the year, dospite
fact that usually new officers are cho-
sen at the beginning of the second sem=
ester, The officers are as follows:pres-
ident, John Fink; treasurer, Preston Rob-
inson; and secrctary, Eleanor Parsons.

STUDENTS VISIT
PRESS, SUPPLY COMPANY

The eighth grade Social Studies
group visited the Knickerbocker press
on Friday. Saturday they visited the
Fro-Joy ice cream plant end the Paramount
Moving Picture Supply Company on Broad-
WAY.

At the Press they observed how our
daily paper is made. Each pupil re-
eeived a lineotype stamp of his nance
through the courtesy of the Knicker»
bocker Press,

At the Fro-Joy plant they enjoyed
ice cream after a trip through the build-
ing. At the Paramount they saw what
they had been studying in class about

» movies.

CLUB NEWS

The Excursion club is planning to
visit the Western Union station on Mon-

day. The next Monday it is going to
attend a meeting of the Senate in the
itol, There the members will see and

r how the laws of the state are dis-
eussed as bills and voted as laws.

The Boys’ Cooking club is learning
to do difficult cooking. On Wednesday
the boys made pigs-in-blankets,

The Cartoon club was greatly disap-
pointed when no one entered the contest
which was announced before bacation, The
president said, "Let's forget there ever
was a contest",

ART STUDENTS
ADVERTISE TRAVEL

The girls in the seventh grade art
classes are completing posters advertis-
ing travel in various parts of the Unit-
ed States and Europe, Some of the best
of the posters are now on exhibit in the
ease outside the library, These include
scenes of the Adirondacks, Ycllowstone
National park, California, Mexico, Hol-
land and Egypt.

The boys in the seventh grade art
classes have just finished making flegs
and -pennants for the ships they recently
completed in shop.

DANCING AND ART CLUBS
WILL PRESENT PLAYS

The Girls' Beginning Dancing club
will vresent a play,"Dancing in School",
written by Laura Ann Lyon next Wednesday
during the club period. The cast of
characters is as follows: Betty,Shirley
Smith; John, Helen Norris; Ruth, Cath-
erine Morrison; Glory, Helen Cooper;
Nancy, Laura Ann Lyon; Bob, Hvulen Culp;
Mother, Marianne Adams; and Father,Helen
Hutchinson, Della Carvel will be the
announcer, and Anne Loucks will direct
the play. The Dramatics club, Etiquette
elub, and the seventh grade Dancing ¢lub
have been invited to attend the play.

The art club is going to present a
play called "Snow White and the Dwarfs"
in assembly soon, The chairmen of the
committees in charge of the production
are as follows: scenery, Arthur Bates;
costumes, Emily Sanderson; advertising,
John Schamberger and Sidney Stockholm;
and typing, Eleanor Parsons and Marilyn
Smith,
