BASKET BALL TEAMS

Eighth grade homerooms hive recent-
ly organized basket ball teams to begin
practice soon, The three room teams will
play against each other, Homeroom 227
has elected Robert Stevenson captain and
LeRoy Smith manager of their team, Home-
room 127 has elected Fred Regan mamager,

SOCIAL STUDINS CLASS
TRIES EXPERIMENT

Last week one of the ninth grade
social studies classes had a new type
of test. Arter reading the questions
the pupils looked up the material in
their books and then wrote gor their
answers, The purpose of the test was
to see if the pupils could find the ans-
wers of the questions in the textbooks,
This showed pupils how to use textbooks
instead of memorizing the material,

Miss Woodruff's social studies class
prepared a basket of food for one of
Albany's poor milies, This basket was
delivered before Thanksgiving day. The
committee in charge of the basket con-
sisted of Genevieve Williams, Elizaboth
Parsons, and Shirley Keneston,

BIOLOGY CLASSES

The Thursday matinee performance is
especially for the school children of
Albany. It is a three-hour picture but
there will be an intermission, It has a

James Cagney and Joo E, Brown,

CLUB NEWS

The Boys' Cooking club has learned
to cook creamed chipped beef and to bake
potatoes,

The Excursion club went to the
Schuyler Mansion last Monday. The guide

shoved them oll the interesting rooms,
including the one in which Alexander
Hanilton and Elizabeth Schuyler were
married, and the nursery.

The Etiovette club had an outing
last Saturday night, They went to the
Palace to see "Mary Burns, Fugiyive" and
then went out to eat before going home,
Miss Laurita Seld, sponsor, accompanied

The Dancing club is going to have a
party before Christmas vacation,

The Model Airplane club is planning
to join the Junior Birdmen of Albany,
Members are going to make Rise Off the
Ground planes during club periods.
