AGS BUT NOT EYOUGH PROGRESS .
The Junior Red Cross is a vital and
active part of school life in most of the
secondary and clementary schools in Alb-
any, with the oxceoption of Milne,
Although this is only the organiza-
tion's sccond yoar in Milne, we feel that
it is not contributing what it should to
either tho student body or its parent
organization,
Just what has Red Cross done in its
year anda half of existence in Milne?
At the boginning of its first year it
colicctod monthly dues together with a
funds raised in a September drive, only
to use tho monoy to send a representa-
tive to a national convention. It has
put on an cntcrtainment or two for homes
for tho aged, It held weekly meetings,
at which noxt to nothing was accomp-
lished, This soason-we congratnlatodthe
group for these very few and only enter-
prises; War Relief Drive, sponsorshipof
a knitting club, and the making of
Braille Saster Cards.

To The Student Body:
My opinion this year of studcnt bas-
ketball support is not as high as it
shoul& be.
This scason, the team and I have
traveled to many different schools, such
as Rocliff Jansen, Greenville, Delmar
and others, In all of theso schools
school spirit which can be secon written
on every student's face, In Nilne, it
just isn't that way. Most of us go to
the gamos because we haven't anything
else to do, or because thare is going to
be dancing aftorwards,
This year there has bceon a very
small attendance of students! parcnts at
games. I say the student body malzos the
tcam what i? is. If the boys havo hard
luck, its no reason for Joe Milnite to
stay away from every game of tho son sOn

MUSIC, MILNE, PLEASE!
here some
branch of cultural
which the
Is t
education Milne curriculum
fails to include? It introduces us to
literature, history, and languages, but
what about music?
In_ the past, question has arison
he
concerning Ringel need of a music de-
partment, Such an addition to our school
would not only advance the cultural do-
velonement of cach of its studonts, but
would also enhance the opportunitics of
those particularly talonted,
We've all admired the musical por-
formances, and especially the bands, of
other schools, Milne has excusod itsclf
from too many activities because of its
size. Now lot's urge our administrators
to enlarge our program by adding a de~
partment of music.

most humane and helpful institution should

OVER THE WSEKEND
It really looked as though everyone
turned out for the last basketball game
of the scason last Friday night. Marion
Horton and Bob Clarke, Bthelee Gould and
Marshall Danto, and Lois Ambler with
Gerry Plunkett were all there.
The Sergeant's Drill was quite the
thing. Glonna Smith was there with Pren-
tice Cushing and Marilyn Potter was
there with an "unlmown",
Leave it to the sophomores, Shir-
ley O'Dell and-Ben Clark (C,B.A,)..seemed
to be doing alright.

WHEN DO YOU": LAUGH?
An Englishman, according to popular
legends, gets threo laughs from a joko,
first, when the joke is told; second,
whon it is oxplained to him; third, whon
he understands it,
The Frenchman gets only tho first
two laughs....he novor secs tho point,
The German gots only one,.....he
won't woit for an explanation, _
And tho American gots nono at all,
because ho's hoard tho joke boforo.
