TEAM WINS FIRST GAME IN SEASON

The Milne High School
Junior basketball team opened the
season lest Scturdey night when
they played the first came. Their
opponent was the baskotbell team
representing School 19.

The came with School 19
wes an overwhelming victory. With
Carr scoring the first point for
Milne in the first few minutes of
play, the teem kept up an endless
stream of scoring. Both Block-
sidce end Kuhn pleyed exception: lly
food games. Masterson showed up
very well too.

score 24 to 7 in favor of Milne.

In the senior game with
the Troy Country Day School, Troy
was victorious with « score 22 to
17 in their favor.

STUDENTS FINISH FURNITURE
FOR PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE USE

The boys who were work-
ing in shop on 6 cebinet for Dr.
Frederick's office heve completed
it. The cabinet hes « finish to
meteh the other furniture in the
officc. It is now in use, and is
being used for keeping newspipers
and inportent metoricls in it,

The. boys arc now consid-

office of Miss Nicos, who is Pro-
feossor's Saylcs' scerot:ry. This

Poor Families.

Home Room 135 is going to have

a Christmas program. They aleo
are going to have a Christmas

tox which will be given to some
poor family. Tuesday,December 1,
they discussed the topic of ed-
ucation and all enjoyed the dis-
cussion very much.

Eome Room 320 has not yet de-
cided if they want a Christmas
party and if they want to fix a
box for a poor family.

They have certain days they
study and sometimes sir. iloose
gives talxa,. wr. loose is the
critic for room 320. Before tests
they review and this helps them
very much. The members hope for a
successful year and hope to do
much to make it one.

Home Room 130 has ;lanned to
give a Christmas basket to some
poor family. They have drawn
lots to bring presents to each
other. #urthsrmore they have de-
cided to organize a Christmas pr6
grom with a play.

Home Room 229, after changing
their schedule several times has
at last settled on this: Monday,
work on "Pencil"; Tuesday,help
iiss Keene; Wednesday,study;
Thursday,program; #riday, bus-
iness meeting.

Home Room 123 is going to
give & Christmas box to some
Orphan asylum. The toys cre
goinz to maxe the box during
shop periods. They are also
planning to have a Christmas
tree and give presents to euch
other.

On ionday, Tuesday and wriday
the girls of Home Room 12] have
hygiene. The boys go to the Li-
brery. On Thursday they have a
business meeting and either work
on their newspaper or have a
program. They call the home rooa,

"The Star."

The girls of Home Room 129
are having hygiene lessons and
the boys go to the library to
study.

ing chess,checkers and many in-
door games. They learn to play
these games and have contests,

Revolution.

Mise Smith's class in Social
Seience is giving a play,"« Sess-
ion of the World Court,"

The ninth grades are studying
about Russia. The seventh grades
are studying about the industria’
revolution. They make maps, car tonies
toons, pictures, graphs and write
stories, plays, and conversations
between people in 1700-1900 and
people of today to show the dif-
ferenccs between then.

The Latin Club is planning

in Room 135, They gage a real
radio program over station HWL,
Henry /adswobth Longfellow, in
acadia. Weather and stock reports
were given along with a play on
‘"Ivangeline" written byaBarbara
Birchunough. One igteresting thing
thing about this was the fact that
the whole broadcast was heard in
the faculty room through earphones,

the 8:00 o'clock class of seventh
graders also in room 135, They
gave the "Courtship of idiles Stan-
dish and used a progressive cast.
