Herbert Marx will tuke the place
of Grover Fayles, whe has left Milne,
in the Junior High prize speaking con-
test on Thursday, april 26.
The participants have chosen their
selections and are new learning them.
Miss Moore, supervisor of English, is
in charge of the contest.
JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS aCTIVE IN SPORTS
The eighth grade girls are
chead of the ninth geride girls in the
baseball games they have been playing
on Tuesdey and Thursday.
The girls’ tennis classes have
been practicing serves and playing
games.

In 1904, when Milne High School
wes located on Willett Street, the
first CRIMSON «. WHITE stuff was
orgenized, aS a paper for the senior
high school. When the schcol burned
down during the Christmas holidays of
1905, oll recoras of the beginning of
the CRIMSON ..ND WHITE were lost.
The first editorial staffs were
self-perpetuating. School spirit
clone was responsible for the publi-
cation of the paper. There were at
first two students who served as
editor-in-chief; later the number was
reduced to one. There was a special
editor for exch department. «an un-

The first issues of the CRIMSON
AND WHITE were enclosed in a standard-
Taed cover, with alternating rea and
white designs. In every annual
issue wos printed a picture of the
editorial staff.

PLaY RUHEARS.LS TO BEGIN MONDAY
The first rehecrsal for "The
Legend of Sleepy Holliw", a play written
by the suver.th eri.ders, will be held
Monday at two o'clock in the Pege Hall
auditorium. Tach seventh grade English
Class is in ch:.rge of one of the four
acts, although the principal characters
will cppe..r throughout the play. The
parts hve now been mimeographed and
handec out to the members of the cast.
