UNIVERSITY AT ALBANY NAMES THREE ASSISTANT FOOTBALL COACHES
Sean Ryan, Keary Millard and Loren Baker Are Chosen
ALBANY, N.Y. -- Sean Ryan, Keary Millard, and Loren Baker have been selected as graduate
assistant football coaches as University at Albany head coach Bob Ford announced today. Ryan will
work with the wide receivers, while Millard will coach the outside linebackers. Baker will handle the
tight ends and assist the offensive line coach.
Ryan, 26, joins the Albany staff after serving as quarterbacks coach at Siena College last
year. He assisted with the construction of the Saints' offensive game plan, and was responsible for
recruiting in New York and Massachusetts. Ryan was the head junior varsity coach and assistant
varsity coach at Clinton (N.Y.) High School from 1992-94. He played defensive back and outside
linebacker at Hamilton College, where he received a B.A. in American Studies. A graduate of
Hudson Falls (N.Y.) High School, Ryan competed as a quarterback and defensive back, and lettered
in basketball and baseball.
Millard, 24, was a two-time All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Conference receiver and kick
returner at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He served as a tri-captain in his senior season, and
went on to earn an undergraduate degree in public relations. A native of Sandown, N.H., Millard was
an all-state choice on two occasions at Timberlane Regional High School, and participated in the
Shriner's Bowl senior all-star game.
Baker, 23, was twice a first-team All-America offensive tackle at the University at Albany, and
led the Great Danes to the 1997 Eastern Football Conference championship and a school-record 11-
1 campaign. As a senior, he made his second straight appearance on the Football Gazette Division
[| All-America squad, and was a first-team All-Northeast Region choice. He also earned All-ECAC-
North and All-EFC honors, and was voted the EFC's best offensive lineman. Baker, a native of
Gloversville, N.Y., received his undergraduate degree in history, and is pursuing a master's in
educational administration. He was an all-region and all-league lineman at Gloversville High School.
ALBANY FOOTBALL NOTES: Albany's football media day is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25 in the
Recreation and Convocation Center's Hall of Fame Room at 11:30 a.m. ... a barbecue-style lunch will be
