Scope and Content:

This collection includes diaries, 1867-1870, 1872; and notes on lectures by Professor Corley on philosophy, chemistry, astronomy, magnetism, and botany, 1868. Also included in this collection is a diary kept by her sister Lydia in 1862.

Biographical / Historical:

Jennie M. Shoonmaker was an 1869 graduate of the New York State Normal School (a predecessor of the University at Albany, State University of New York), who taught in Guilford, New York, and New Paltz, New York.

Acquisition information:
Materials were donated to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections Archives, yet little acquisition documentation exists.
