Salazar — I want to give an update from the Rules Committee. I know we
voted to remove Marielle’s voting powers. Rules is in the process of
impeaching her. I wanted to get everyone’s input on this. In your opinion,
do you think rules should impeach her?

a. McCracken — I think they should impeach her. At first, I thought we
should’ve been lenient with her absences because she was incredibly
professional during the investigation and God only knows what she
had to go through for that in her personal life and her sorority. It has
been a long time since she has come to a meeting though. A lot of
board members have made sacrifices to make board meetings. We’ve
stayed past midnight working on the budget and dedicated hours to
the position. I personally missed spa night with my girlfriend. It
makes me frustrated and we should remove her from the Board of
Finance

Donelan — Motion to let Senate Chairman Nick Chin in the call

a. McCracken — Second

Donelan — I think that if Marielle does get impeached, President Ariel

Nunez and President-elect Damilola Adesanya should work together on

finding a replacement nominee. If Nunez appoints them for the rest of the

year and Adesanya appoints them for 2020-2021, then we will have three
sitting members of the Board of Finance including Tanner and Amy. That
way, it can minimize the Board of Finance gap we had earlier in the year
where Owen Howard was the only member of the Board of Finance for
awhile

1. McCracken — The bill wouldn’t be a two-year appointment, right?
a. Donelan - No, it would be an agreement for President Nunez to
appoint Marielle’s replacement and then President Adesanya
would appoint that same person to the Board of Finance for 2020-
2021

2. Daquial — I think we are all in agreement of what we should do. We need
to put our foot down. We have been professional and given her more than
enough time. I will be in the meeting tomorrow and I will recuse myself,
but I do support it.

3. Chin —- Chairman Ramsaran of the Rules Committee spoke to me about
it. She did the wrong thing. I was not in favor of telling President Nunez
to appoint someone for such a short period of time. I agree with Molly
that if the outgoing and incoming President can agree on someone to
appoint, then I see the benefit of it happening. I don’t see the feasibility
in appointing someone just for the last bit of the year, but I am in favor of
it if they come to an agreement.

a. Donelan — Something I’ve been hearing a lot about is when the
timing is right to hold someone accountable. I heard with the
impeachment of former President Chin-Carty that we should let it
slide because there wasn’t that much time left in the school year.
We need to get rid of that mindset. The Student Association has
suffered from a lack of accountability in our culture. We need to
hold people accountable even when its inconvenient and go
through the accountability measures that are in our bylaws. Motion
to go out of executive session.
