Be it hereby proposed that the following be enacted:
I That the 200 Section of the Student Association ByLaws be amended to read:
204.4 — Senate Appointments
204.4.1 — Committee Chair Appointments
204.4.1.1 — Committee chair appointments shall be made by the Chair of the Student Association Senate through
formal consultation with the Vice Chair of the Senate. These appointments require 24-hour notification to the
Senate prior to becoming eligible for a vote and are subject to confirmation by a two-thirds (2/3) majority of
Senators present and voting.
204.4.1.2 — A Committee Chair may be removed from their position via a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Student
Association Senate or through their direct dismissal by the Chair of the Senate, through formal consultation with
the Vice Chair of the Senate. Dismissal of a Committee Chair shall only be initiated as a result of neglect of
duty, unethical behavior, or a high degree of demonstrable ineffectiveness.
204.4.2 — Committee assignments
204.4.2.1 — Committee assignments shall be made by the Chair of the Student Association Senate through
formal consultation, with the Vice Chair of the Senate. These assignments require 24-hour notification to the
Senate prior to becoming eligible for a vote and are subject to confirmation by a simple majority of Senators
present and voting.
204.4.2.2 — Directors of the executive branch shall be assigned to a committee as ex officio members by the
Chair of the Student Association Senate through formal consultation with the Vice Chair of the Senate,
Student Association President, and Student Association Vice President. These assignments require 24-
hour business days notification prior to the Senate prior to becoming eligible for a vote and are subject to
confirmation by a simple majority of Senators present and voting.
204.4.2.2.1 Ex-officio members are not required to attend these meetings
IL. That this bill go into effect immediately upon passage in accordance with the Student Association
Constitution.
