prepared for very long meetings

material. Please speak slowly and act like you’re explaining to
someone outside of SA.
Comptroller’s Report
1. Tony Kelley, Comptroller
i. Welcome Tanner

i. Not here
2. McCracken — We are not meeting this semester, but we will start
meeting when Sabra approves some forms.
3. Daquial — A general idea of supplemental line? Do we have money?

i. McCracken — Yes, we have money. Mostly taking from the new

and unfunded line
Budgetary Business
1. Rescheduling of the Mandatory Budget Meeting

i. Salazar - Tentative date is January 23 at 7-8:30pm in the

Campus Center Auditorium
Unfinished Business
1. NLCC Contract

i. Comptroller Kelley — This is the NLCC which is Fuerza
Latina’s largest event. It is a tradition; every year they try to do
more. This is why their budget exists. This year they want to
spend more money but this isn’t too far off from previous costs.
This is a weekend event and there will be a lot of attendance

2. Daquial — Cost per head?
i. I don’t know off the top of my head... About $40 per person
3. Daquial — Bar setup, is that ok?

i. Kelley — We are just paying for them to set the bar up which is
included in the dinner reception. They will be IDing people and
we are covered if anything should happen.

4. Debate
i. Daquial - Thank you for answering my questions
ii. Comptroller Kelley- I am not paying all of this right away. The
deposit wasn’t put down because I wanted to wait for you guys
to approve it. I am going to continue to work on it to become a
lower cost
5. Donelan - I’m not sure the entire story of this contract, especially the
after party hours
6. Daquial — Thanks for bringing that up. We’ve had issues like this
before when the appeal was lower than 7800.
7. Donelan - Who is Nicole Batista?
i. Comptroller Kelley- She is an NLCC coordinator.
ii. Donelan - Is she a student?
1. Comptroller Kelley - Yes

Comptroller — We are throwing a spiritual week. We want
Marvin Sapp in the Auditorium. This is going to be the biggest
fee we will incur. Usually we have problems with riders but the
agency is handling it. Pam is screening the artist. This is just the
fee for the artist and the booking agency.
Daquial - Is the first time we are using the agency?

1. Comptroller - No
McCracken — Are you aware that Student Association is spelled
wrong at the top?

1. Kelley - I can get it fixed
Daquial — What is “Act of God?”

1. Salazar - It is an environmental or disaster that is out of

your control. It is actually a legal term

Donelan - What budget line is this coming out of?

1. Comptroller - Programming

i. Daquial - How much more are we looking at for cost?

1. Very minimal because rider will be handled by the
agency and the venue is in the campus center. We may
have to spend on decorations and technology.

Daquial - Are we charging the students?

1. We are going back and forth. Ideally we would like to get
more money to fund parkfest, but Programming Director
Joy Darko and President Dee Chin Carty. The
Programming Director wants to keep it free whereas the
President wants to charge students. If we do charge, it
will be very minimal
