Well, I’m done. I managed to finish this book two weeks before I thought I would, and probably
two months before most other people thought I would. It has definitely taken a lot of work to get through
the last year, but it is definitely worth it. As for all of you graduating seniors, Congratulations, I wish you
the best of luck with what you pursue after finishing your degree here at SUNY Albany. I hope that you
find this yearbook triggers your memories so that you will never forget your years here. The people in
University Photo Service worked extremely hard throughout the year gathering the photos you see in
these pages.
One final note, I’m sure you have read “The Road Not Taken” by Robert Frost. It is a poem
commonly put in yearbooks, magazines, and other farewell publications. Rather then reprinting the poem
I chose to include a photo of Robert Frost’s farmhouse in Derry, NH where he wrote this poem. If you
have not seen this poem before I encourage you to find a copy, a quick search on the Internet will yield
numerous postings.

Here are a few people I would like to thank in no particula
order:
MOM and DAD: Well if it wasn’t for your guys I wouldn’t even be here. You have always
supported my journalist passions weather it’s back in High School with video journalism @
here in college with Photography. Thanks for everything. ;
LORI SUTTON: Hey, if it wasn’t for you there would probably be no Crew photos in this 2
book and they are some of my favorites.
be remiss for not mentioning you. I simply would not have joined Photo Service three
years ago if it wasn’t for you. In a odd way, Thank You.
GOLD: Everyone tries to thank you, I’m not quite sure how but I will try. Over the last fe
rocky years here at Torch you have quite possibly ‘saved the day’ to many times to list.
Thank You.
BEN ROSENTHAL: I watching you make last years book was the best learning experence
With out being able to see how things worked out last year I would have spent many ho
trying to figure things out, and I would have never gotten finished so early. You were
always around when I passed through Albany over the summer for a quick bite to eat or
hanging around the hours. Thanks
DAVE TATE: You were defintally the best Chief Photographer I could have asked for. I
would not have had nearly the amount of photos to choose from while doing this book if
wasn’t for you. You were always there trying to help to improve the work of the photographers under you. Good Luck in New Haven.
DAVE LOCKNEY: You kept the office running and full of suplies, with out that noone would have gotten any work done. Thank You
' DEIRDRE MANGAN: You always seemed to be in the office when I was first arriving in the morning (somewhere around noon) . It was great to have
someone there that went to class every day, and more often then not prompted me to head off to Discrete Probability.
ZEKE PURDY and PAUL INNES: As just about every one Empire Commons knew your apartment was the place to be on a Friday night. Thanks for
, the great times.
ERIC PUCILLO: You're the best boss I could ask for. With all the time I needed off to handle yearbook stuff you never once gave me a hard time,
and always welcomed me back to the office even if I was only back for a few weeks here and there.
' TIM MARVIN and KATIE NADEAU: Every year the leaders of NYPIRG become a part of the extended Photo Service family. Also every year the
people are great, you guys are no exception, I couldn’t think of better people to share a hallway with!
MIKE DURINZI: Whenever something came up with senior portraits you were always there to set everything strait. Even when your phone system
was falling apart you came through. Thanks for everything.
RICK PETITTI and CHRIS KLEIN: You guys did a great job as always with senior portraits. Trekking through bad NY weather to take pictures of
seniors is not the easiest thing in the world I would imagine.
MCGREEVY PROLAB: Your shop is a great asset to have so close by. ANYTHING I came to you with you could always do. From digital index prints
to 20"x24" digital prints to color slide work. I was down there at least twice a week most of the year. I’m sure I'll be around plenty next year as well.
(shameless plug: www.mcgreevyprolab.com)
STUDENT ASSOCIATION: From the AAs to the EBoard everyone there was always professional and helpful.
TORCH EDITORS: BEN, TANIA, JULIE, DANNY, and STU were always there if I had any questions or even if I just wanted to talk or go out fora
beer. All of their books are amazing, they all have their indivual passions and absorbing them all made me a better editor.
UNIVERSITY PHOTO SERVICE: This place has become like home to me. Everyone in Photo Service is great to be around. I will always remember the
many times people would all just hang around the office between classes, after classes, or just when they are bored. Reality is though, al of your
guys work so hard with not enough thanks.
I’m sure I have forgotten people, I’m sorry. The people that deserve to be thanked would take up this whole book.
