Chairman...
Dear Rushee,
On behalf of the Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) here at SUNY
Albany, I invite you to participate in Spring Rush 1993. F
I'm sure that several of you are faced with the tough decisions of
whether or not to pledge a fraternity. Pledging a fraternity is a deci- } f
sion that requires a great deal of consideration. We here at the IFC
feel that investing your time during rush will make your decision eas
ier to make.
Fraternity organizations play an important role here at SUNY
Albany. Fraternities encourage superior scholarship, inspire high
standards of conduct, and create a sense of belonging unlike any
other organizations on campus. In addition, fraternities develop
leadership abilities and responsibilities that continue throughout
your life.
Rush can best be described as an introduction to Greek Life.
This introduction takes place as you meet active members of fraterni-
ties in formal and informal settings. By using and experiencing this
period of rush, you will have a better understanding of the fraternity
system at SUNY Albany and of which of our 20 recognized is best
suited for your interests.
Each fraternity is unique and has much to offer with its member-
ship. Keep in mind that the time you spend here at this university is
limited, so make the most of it. I strongly encourage you to take
advantage of Rush Week and most importantly to go Greek!
