Scope and Content:

Includes a set of memos with watercolor art done by Donald Mochon.

Biographical / Historical:

Donald Mochon was the founder of the University at Albany's Art Museum. Mochon graduated from the Rensselaer Polytehnic Institute with a Master of Architecture in 1938. Mochon went on to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1945, and later became a professor at RPI. Mochon was named the first director of the Art Musuem at the University at Albany in 1966. Mochon died in 1976.

Acquisition information:
Dr. Francine Frank former Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University at Albany donated materials to the M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives in 2015.
