FROM: Mr. Walter M, Tisdale
Service Building "A" - Room 103
SUBJECT: Campus Progress Report No. 237
Correct Leaks - Lecture Center
This morning a bid opening was held to obtain a contractor
to do the job of correcting the leaks in the Lecture Center. These
leaks have been troublesome and rather widespread for the past few
years.
Four bidders submitted bids ranging from $28,500 to $63,300.
Thirty-seven thousand dollars had been allocated for the job. Thus,
we have two bidders within this range.
The lowest bidder was Standard Waterproofing of New York
City. The second lowest bidder was M-Gard Construction Inc., a local
firm. As soon as these firms have been Tnvestigated, particularly the
lowest bidder from New York City, the contract will be awarded.
Estimated time for this is about three weeks. The schedule calls
for start of construction on | July 1974, and all work to be completed
by | November 1974. There should be no interference with the use of
any of the Lecture Halls incidental to the project.
