SUBJECT: Campus Progress Report No. 218
The following bid openings were attended with the following results:
1. On 9 May 1973 blds were opened for the Replacement and Relocation of
Emergency Exit Hardware, Colonial Quadrangle. The successful bidder
was Harold Lapham and Sons of Albany, whose base bld was $9,160. It
is expected that this contract will be awarded soon and work will |
commence within the next few weeks. It will rectify several condittons
In the lock system withIn that quadrangle which have troubled us for
some time and which have resulted from numerous lock changes.
2. On 16 May 1973 bids were opened for the Resurfacing of Perlmeter Road
and Replacement of Granite Curbing. Additionally, the contract to
Reseal the Athletic Fleld Track was opened. Successful bids were
recelved for both jobs. The low bid for the Perimeter Road job came
In at $55,848, and the second lowest bld was In the amount of $129,850,
Both the low bldder and second lowest bidder:are wel|l-known and competent
concerns, but the low bidder was so far below the price estimate of
$150,000 that he will be scrutinized to make sure that he has not made
a mistake, In any event, we wil! have a contract on this job Ina
couple of weeks and will be starting work this summer.
The Resealing of the Athletic Field Track came In at $7,520, the lowest
bidder betng Copeland Co., Cheshire, Connecticut. The amount allocated
for this Job was $16,500, and we expect that work wil! be starting
soon and will be completed before the track season commences next Fall.
