Campus Progress Report No. 123

An inspection was held this morning of the fawn planting areas pertaining to
Group | bulldings. The takeover of these regions had been delayed owing to unaccept~
able first attempts. Most of the regions were now found to be acceptable, subject to
punch list, and have been accepted. Some corrective work which Is Included on the
punch list cover such Items as repairing washed-out gullles, replanting bare spots
and refertilizing. The acceptance of these areas and the maintenance of them by our
Plant Department will, In the long run, be to our advantage and result In better
lawns.

One apparent problem Is the paths that have been made across our lawns by
students taking shortcuts. Although various appeals have been made to University
Administrative Staff and through the medium of the Albany Student Press (ASP),
rather widespread Indifference continues to exist about the maintenance of lawns
as far as students and faculty are concerned. Any steps that can be taken by res~
ponsible officers of the University to cope with this situation would be alf to
the good.
