FROM: Mr. Walter M. Tisdale
Service Building "A" = Room 103

SUBJECT: Campus Progress Report No. 235
Bus Lifts and Doors = Service Building
Project No. 26074

We had a successful bid opening this morning for the above project
at the Office of General Services. Five bidders responded with prices ranging
from $39,784 to a high bid of $63,722. Forty-two thousand dollars has been
allocated for. this project. The only bidder who was within the al location
was the Beaver Building Corporation, Albany, New York, at $39,784,

There appears to be no reason why this bid should not be accepted.

In all likelihood the contract will be placed within a matter of four to six
weeks. Unless some unforeseen hitch occurs we will probably have an orfentation
meeting to start the project around the middle of April. Work should be

completed this Fall.

The completion of this project will give us the capability for the
first time of being able to render proper maintenance to our buses and major
vehicles by lifting them to provide access for lubrication and maintenance
on the underside, It will put us on the same level as the average garage or
well-equipped service station to take care of our own vehicles in the bus
category. Heretofore many of these vehicles had to be sent off campus for
such maintenance.
