SUBJECT: Campus Progress Report No. 113

Today we inspected and accepted the Great Circle and entrance
off Washington Avenue, all the blacktop promenades recently installed
north of the academIlc podium, the roads, promenades and parking lot In
the vicinity of the Health and Physical Education building.

The parking lots north of the Administration bultding and the
FIne Arts building were not accepted at this time because of obligations
having to do with routing traffic over the cobblestone entrance, since
this cobblestone work has not been completed, and we cannot use It for
an entrance thls winter. However, | have an agreement with the contractor
to use these parking lots, effective immedtately. We will provide tempo-
rary entrances leading from adjacent roadways so that entrances and exits
can be accomplished without resorting to travel over the cobblestone.
Action to publish parking advices pertaining to these areas, Including
the parking lots and Great Circle, etc., could now be taken, for the
advice of all concerned.

Agreement Is also made that until! the stabllized gravel is in-
stalled along the north side of the podium, there will be no objection
to faculty using this area, between the promenade and the podium itself,
for parking purposes.

On Monday, the 18th of December, we have arranged to Inspect
the Administration bullding and the Greenhouse, with a view to taking
these facilities over. Preliminary Inspection looks good and we will
start to move segments Into the Administration bullding immediately
after takeover. About a two week Jump was gained on the carpeting which
is now 75% complete. This will enable us to move permanently into the
carpeted areas and will avoid later disruptions.
