Background

Scope and content:
This collection contains selections from The Theater Annual, a journal that for a time was published by the State University of New York at Albany. It contains essays on theater history and current players and productions.
Biographical / historical:
The SUNY Theater Annual was first published in 1942 by the Theater Library Association. The publication covered theater history as well as current events, discussing important actors and productions. Publication of the Annual was taken over by John V. Falconieri while at the Western Reserve University. He moved to the University at Albany who continued publication through the 1960s as a member of the Department of Romance Languages.

All items in this manuscript group were donated to the University Libraries, M.E. Grenander Department of Special Collections and Archives.
