This series contains the records of central union councils affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The TWUA, which the Hudson Valley Area was a part of, joined the AFL-CIO around 1976. Prior to the formation of the Hudson Valley Area Joint Board, the Columbia County Joint Board held the records of the Upper Hudson Area Industrial Council, CIO. The Upper Hudson Area Industrial Council became the Upper Hudson Area Central Labor Union, AFL-CIO in 1958. The records were then transfered from the Columbia County Joint Board to the Hudson Valley Area Joint Board in 1958-1959. The Hudson Valley Area Joint Board also oversaw he records of the Central Labor Union of New York, AFL-CIO.
