The Acid Rain subseries contains reports, news clippings, testimony, and legislation related to the health effects of acid rain in New York and other states.

The Administrative Files subseries documents the operational activities of Mr. Wasserman's directorship, including correspondence, meeting minutes of the executive board, budgets, canvassing information, membership lists, and news releases.

The Administrative subseries contains Loretta Simon's correspondence along with contact names and addresses.

The Air subseries contains material related to the issues of air pollution, the Group Against Smog and Pollution, air quality, clean air, ozone, and low emission vehicles (LEV).

The Audio subseries contains nine audiotapes. There are two tapes from the 20th Anniversary Dinner in 1989. Dick Cavett served as the master of ceremonies at the dinner and speakers included Lee Wasserman, David Sive, Gov. Mario Cuomo, Tom Chapin, Robert Abrams, Sigourney Weaver, and Warren Liebold. Other audiotapes in the series include radio advertisements targeting state legislators and promoting events.

The Bottle Bill subseries contains correspondence, memorandums, legislative materials, testimony, and news clippings. Folders of interest include "Bottle Bill Commission, 1985", containing a report entitled "The New York Returnable Beverage Container Law: The First Year;" "Correspondence, 1977-1983;" and the folders entitled "Liter Memorandums."

The Energy subseries contains material related to the Home Insulation and Energy Conservation Program, food irradiation, appliance efficiency, state energy office, state master plan, James Bay in Quebec, and the following energy sources: coal, nuclear, solar, hydro, wind, and oil.

Environmental Advocates' publications are arranged alphabetically by publication title. Titles of interest include the Albany Report -- the bimonthly newsletter of what is happening in New York regarding environmental issues, The Green Sheet - EA's monthly bulletin of statewide environmental activism, and the Voter's Guide. The inclusive dates are 1972-2000 with bulk dates of 1990-1998.

The subseries Funding contains correspondence, legislative material, news clippings, notes, and testimony related to the Environmental Bond Act, Environmental Protection Fund (EPF), Environmental Trust Fund (ETF), and Capital District Coalition.

The Hazardous Waste subseries contains bills, correspondence, case studies, fact sheets, news clippings, reports, and testimony related to storage, superfunds, siting, incineration, Toxic wastes (Asbestos, Dioxin, etc.), and low level radioactive waste. The bulk of the material in this subseries is concerned with low level radioactive waste.
