This collection details the social activism of Malcolm Willison in New York State's Capital Region. As an active board member of several local groups, his papers contain minutes, financial statements and budgets, programming ideas, brochures, planning notes, articles and reports, and clippings that detail the evolution of the various organizations contained in the collection. Organizational newsletters and event flyers, course and conference information planned by Willison in his capacity on executive boards, and vast amounts of correspondence about any number of events and issues are also part of the scope of the collection.

A 1940 graduate of the New York State College for Teachers, Brown was a respected children's book writer and illustrator, and a three-time Caldecott Medal winner.

This series includes material specific to one particular individual (Anne Carroll Moore, Jean Charlot, Beatrix Potter, Hans Christian Andersen), place (Hawaii) or subject: technical information including articles of prints and printmaking, samples and notes; bibliographies; conferences and workshops, including announcements and programs; exhibitions catalogs; award announcements; programs for award luncheons and dinners; notable listings where Brown's books are chosen for excellence by different sources including The Horn Book Magazine and The ALA Bulletin.

This series includes original art by: Elizabeth Olds; Elizabeth McKinstry; Roger Du Voisin; Susan Suba; Fritz Eichenberg; circa Lovat Fraser; Bill Haynes; Glen Rounds; Merle Bierberg; and large pieces of Japanese origami based on Three Billy Goats Gruff by an unknown artist. There is also printed artwork by Anne Carroll Moore and Fritz Eichenberg as well as a set of Italian stamps. Also included in this series are works by school children sent to Marcia Brown and a sketch and photo of Anne Carroll Moore's "Nicholas" puppet.

The Martin Fausold Papers documents Fausold's involvement in in the Faculty Association of the State University of New York and his two-decade long Oral History of SUNY Project.

The second series of this collection consists of Fausold's research and subject files. A majority of this series are research materials for the Oral History of SUNY Project. These materials include a large number of dissertations, newspaper articles, and multiple finding aides to archival collections, some annotated by Fausold. There are also multiple copies of Fausold's Draft History of the State University of New York as well as executive committee meeting minutes and membership lists. Fausold's applications and acceptance letters into the Research Foundation and Visiting Professorships' GRI Program can be found in this series. Fausold also kept records of Research Foundation expenses, correspondence, and funding possibilities. This series also contains Fausold's correspondence from the 1980s to the 2000s about the Oral History of SUNY Project.

The earliest minutes date from the formation of the Student Association in 1921. They document the Student Association's interest in establishing and maintaining school traditions (1920's and 30's), the Student Association's concern with academic issues such as the establishment of the honor system. These documents give an overview of the management of the organization, and document the Student Association structural change.

The Student Association Records contains records documenting the proceedings of the UAlbany Student Association from its inception in 1921 to 2020. This collection contains records that relate to the changing duties, functions, and governmental structure of the Student Association.

The collection is made up of the accreditiation reports for the University at Albany.

The New York State chapter of NOW aims to bring women into full participation in the mainstream of American society in order to exercise all privileges and responsibilities in an equal partnership with men. Working close with the Senate, political candidates,other women organizations, and community activists, NOW-NYS members work to defend women from inequality.

The State Council Meetings include meeting minutes, cassette recordings of some State Council meetings, memoranda, agendas, correspondence, bylaws, newsletters, and State Convention and State Executive Committee minutes. The State Council Meetings document the structure, function, and activities of the state and local chapters, issues of concern to NOW-NYS on subjects ranging from abortion to education, and provide insight into the running of this state-wide women's network.

The NOW-NYS Feminist Publications Collection series contains periodicals and journals issued by a wide range of women's and feminist groups. Feminist publications include Speak Out (1972-1977), the Spokeswoman (1970-1977), and the Feminist Majority (1972-1998, with gaps), dealing with gay and lesbian rights, reproductive rights, abortion, rape and radical political ideology. The series also includes periodicals dealing with reproductive health care and civil rights such as Family Planning/Population Reporter (1975-1977) and Response to Violence and Sexual Abuse in the Family (1979-1981) Civil Rights Quarterly-Perspectives (1981).

The Center on English Learning & Achievement (CELA) specializes in research, development, and services to improve literacy teaching and learning across the grades and subjects.

Records of non-profit citizens' organization committed to reducing hazardous chemical pesticides use through education and advocacy.

This series is divided up into eight subseries that document various prominent issues addressed by NYCAP in its work, particularly that used in its information clearinghouse and in programs it conducted. Subseries 4: Activist Organizations and Coalitions is a collection of materials from groups involved in promoting pesticide alternatives like NYCAP, or with other environmental issues generally. The series includes articles, correspondence, reports, pamphlets, and notes. The majority of the material was not produced by NYCAP, although it generally either part of a campaign they were working on, or information they distributed.

Documented in this subseries are the effects of pesticides and other chemicals on human health. Issues and groups featured prominently include Multiple Chemical Sensitivity and the Maternal Infant Network, as well as cancer, and women's and children's health.

Established in 1968 to assist clinical social workers in performing their duties, the New York State Society for Clinical Social Work (NYSSCSW) offers professional support to its members in the practice of clinical psychotherapy. The collection documents the founding, administration, and activities of the NYSSCSW and its various local chapters.

This series contains copies of the society's newsletter – later known as "The Clinician" – dating back to 1974, as well as publications circulated by local chapters. The NYSSCSW newsletters often contain a President's Message, ACE Foundation News, information on continuing education programs, Committee and Chapter reports, plus clinical articles and book reviews.

The materials document the 40-50 writer events held yearly at the University at Albany, which include informal seminars, writing workshops, and readings.
