This series contains the files of past presidents of the Captital District Chapter of ASPA. At least three of these files--those of George W. Chesbro, Robert P. Kerker and Charlotte O. Gray--appear to have been donated by the presidents themselves. The rest of these files were collected from people other than the president who created the records, but these do seem to be files kept by those presidents. Most of these files are arranged as day files: items within files are in rough chronological order, and contain incoming and outgoing correspondence, meeting minutes, newsletters, announcements, and some notes. For the most part, files under one name contain the records of one president's term, but a few of these files (notably, those for Robert J. Donahue) contain records that overlap with the terms of other presidents and are filed in the presidents' files for the sake of convenience.

This series contains minutes and agendas. The earliest minutes are verbatim transcripts of meetings. These transcripts give a full picture of the discussion held during the meetings but lasted only from 1959 to 1960. The regular minutes from 1961 and 1962 have not survived.

This series contains correspondence, budgets, the records of ASPA conferences (especially the regional conference this chapter held in Albany in 1978), the national and local associations' constitutions, a few publications from organizations with related interests, videotapes of ASPA educational programs (May 1988), and files on subjects they were working on, such as civil service reform. Other records in this series include correspondence that was not a part of the presidents' files or the secretary's files. The bulk of the correspondence is that with the National Association, though much of that consists of memoranda sent to local chapters.

This series consists of unpublished documents that were created or collected by Moffat and his legislative staff. Press releases designed to publicize Moffat's stance on state taxation, state and local bond issues and the relationship between state and local finance predominate. Other documents in the series detail Moffat's support for slum clearance and public housing construction (December 1936-January 1937, January 1938, January-March 1939), construction of the New York State Thruway and New York City-area bridges and tunnels (February 1929, March 1939, August 1940, March 1942), codification and publication of local and state laws and administrative codes (April 1937, February 1938, February 1943, July 1943), and prohibition of child labor (March-April 1937, January 1938). Moffat's opposition to the creation of New Deal-style Social Security and minimum wage programs in New York State (January-March 1937) and efforts to curb welfare expenditures (February 1937, April 1937, March 1938, March 1939, March 1941) are also documented. Some of the press releases drafted between April and July 1938 concern proposed amendments placed before the New York State Constitutional Convention. This series also includes typescripts of a number of speeches that Moffat delivered before various political and civic groups and on radio stations across the state. Many of the speeches concern the relationship between state and local finance, but others concern state and national Republican campaigns (1932 [no month given], September 1940, February 1943) and government planning for the postwar period (November 1942). Several of the speeches have extensive handwritten additions and revisions.

This series consists of unpublished documents generated in connection with the 1936 gubernatorial campaign of William F. Bleakley, chairman of the New York State Republican Party and former New York State Supreme Court Justice. Included are charts detailing the statewide results of the elections of 1932 and 1936, draft texts of campaign fliers and press releases concerning the fiscal policies of Governor Herbert Lehman, and the text of a speech asserting that New York State residents paid a disproportionately large share of federal taxes.

This series contains materials that Moffat created or collected in connection with the 1938 New York State Constitutional Convention. Included are a copy of the printed rule book distributed to delegates, draft copies of proposed amendments concerning state and local finances, and the texts of Republican delegates' informal agreements about state finances. NB: Press releases issued in connection with the convention are contained in Series 1, Press Releases, Speeches, and Reference Materials, 1929-43, and relevant clippings are contained in Subseries 2, Constitutional Convention, 1936-38, in Series 4, Newspaper Clippings, 1934-43.

This series contains newsletters created by the Pride Center. The newsletter called Community, updated members of the center of the upcoming activities of the center. The newsletters also include articles written by the members and announcements about any changes or updates to the center. This series also includes other publications written by other organizations and institutions about the LGBTQ community.

This series contains the administrative files of the Pride Center. Included in the records are bylaws, staff records, finanical records, membership papers and other administrative documents related to the day to day activities of the center. Some folders are restricted for due to personal information of staff and members of the center. Please consult an archivist before use.

The series includes draft environmental impact statements, responses and decisions. Maps and photographs of the actual area and of models are also included. Clippings are from newspapers and periodicals and deal with the application, the Albany Pine Bush, and the opening of the shopping mall.

This series is the transcript of proceedings at public hearings. Page numbering is consecutive for the entire record.

This series documents the Project Cirrus program, a weather modification initiative undertaken by GE along with the United States Signal Corps, Office of Naval Research, and the United States Air Force, with general oversight handled by the Department of Defense. As part of the effort, Dr. Vonnegut discovered that AgI, Silver Iodide, was a superior nucleation agent. This discovery significantly influenced the science of artificial precipitation and this method came to be adopted as the chief means of "rain making".

Series 2 documents the NOSL (Nighttime/Daylight Optical Survey of Thunderstorm Lightning) experiment, a large-scale project undertaken by NASA during the early 1980s, in which astronauts recorded and documented thunderstorm and lightning activity from the Earth's orbit. Dr. Vonnegut, who proposed the project, utilized the photographs and data in his continuing research on thunderstorms and electrification theory.

While employed at Arthur D. Little, Dr. Vonnegut built upon his research in atmospheric science. The majority of his work focused on electrification of clouds, thunderstorms, and the behavior of lightning, he also looked at behaviors of gases but on a much smaller scale. Besides pursuing his own research, Dr. Vonnegut worked on a number of advisory projects for the United States government. These projects focused on the relationship between aircrafts and lightning. The main focus was on how aircrafts detect and avoid lightning when flying in a storm.

This series documents ASLF's numerous projects to seek compliance with pollution discharge regulations and remediation of the environment. Projects include the research into and court proceedings of companies, individuals or government officials, and a few ASLF sponsored workshops. The materials in this series contain: correspondence, compliance reports, discharge monitoring reports (DMR), court documents, drawings, intent to sue, laboratory analysis, notes, news clippings, National Discharge Elimination Permit System (NPDES) permits, photographs, quarterly non-compliance reports (QNCR), remediation programs, citizen standing and workshops. The projects are divided into subseries based on geographic regions.

This series contains primarily environmental, scientific and legal journals, magazines, newsletters, reports, analyses, studies, and other publications collected by the ASLF. The majority of materials address environmental issues or geographic areas specific to New York State, although the Midwest is well represented. The series is divided into four subseries - serials, New York publications, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation publications and publications about issues outside of New York.

This series contains reference materials on a variety of topics including, EPCRA, CWA, citizen suits, freedom of information act and other informational resources. Materials include correspondence, research papers, photocopied articles, notes and pamphlets.

Protect Your Environment was the environmental student organization formed at the University at Albany in early 1970s. People for the Pine Bush was a similar environmental organization, a precursor to Save the Pine Bush. The series is a collection of papers, articles, notes, and meeting minutes of both organizations through Lynne Jackson's involvement in the organization as a student at the University at Albany.

Prior to Save the Pine Bush, Inc., Lynne Jackson was actively involved in Citizen's Protecting the Environment (CPE) an environmental organization based in Schenectady, New York. The series includes CPE agendas and meeting minutes, brochures, budgets, correspondence, and papers concerning a recycling education class project. Also included are press releases and numerous newsletters from other organizations connected to environmental activism. Though there are a variety of organizations which produced newsletters represented in the collection, there is generally only one or two newsletters per group. One oversize box contains larger newsletters printed on newsprint.

Series contains newsletters, monthly activities fliers, and press releases produced by Save the Pine Bush. Press releases date from 1978 to 1980. No newsletters are represented between 1981 to 1988. Monthly activities fliers begin with 1989.

This series includes reports published by the Public Employment Relations Board and its members. It also includes material related to New York's Taylor Law and New York State government publications.

Series two includes published and typescripts of articles, books, and reports written or edited by Helsby and others about labor relations and collective bargaining.

This series is made up almost entirely of news clippings with reference to Dr. Green. Loose clippings have been photocopied onto acid-free paper for preservation, while shorter newsletters have been kept in their entirety. The collection begins sparsely in the mid-1960s and becomes increasingly dense as Dr. Green furthers her career and becomes better known in the Capital District. While the collection covers a wide variety of newspaper mentions about Dr. Green and her actions, highlights include her role as chair of the NAACP's Legal Redress Committee, during which she became involved in high-profile murder and race relations cases in 1984 and 1985; her part as a founder and member of a police watchdog group in Albany from 1986 through 1990; and her much-publicized protests at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day events hosted by Governor Pataki from 1995 through 1999. As a high-profile criminologist in Albany, Dr. Green is often consulted on justice and civil liberties issues as they touch the Capital District. Some of the news clippings do not mention Dr. Green directly but are related to issues and activities she was directly involved in. The series also contains certificates and awards granted to Dr. Green and the programs and announcements that accompanied these honors. The oversized box contains a folder of materials from this series.

This series consists of both published and unpublished writings of Dr. Green. The series includes many handwritten notes and outlines, particularly in reference to Law Never Here.

This series consists of both the programs and advertisements for appearances by Alice Green, as well as the text and notes of the speeches she gave at some of these events. The speeches are unpublished and many of the notes and outlines are handwritten, and therefore, it is difficult to determine the date or event at which they may have been delivered. The series includes one audio cassette of the address Dr. Green delivered at the Albany Academy's 1985 commencement. Alice Green's son, John A. Green, was a graduate of this class. A folder in the oversized box contains posters for events at which Dr. Green spoke.
