This collection is made up of the papers of Arthur N. Applebee, Distinguished Professor of Education and founder of Center on English Learning And Achievement (CELA), covering his professional career in Albany.

The Arts in Education Series documents Ruth Pelham's concerts, residences, workshops, and programs at various youth-centric and educational institutions. Included are song lyrics she distributed and/or developed with students in various stages of the writing process, legal and financial documentation, correspondence between Pelham and institutional staff (usually school faculty), photographs of events, personal notes, reflections on events, post-performance evaluations, and thank you notes from participants (usually youths). This series is a more intimate look at the inner processes that kept the Music Mobile's wheels turning beyond grant funding and fundraising.

This collection contains documents concerning the work of Ruth Pelham, a singer/songwriter and educator in the Albany, New York area who has been performing for decades in an effort to bring about peaceful communities through music. From the late 1970s to circa 2016, Pelham traveled in a mobile music program called the Music Mobile; singing, teaching, and writing songs with the community.

The Associated Industries of New York State/ Business Council of New York State Records contains documents which were created during the group's 66 years of business. Among the contents are files on the group's former directors, correspondence and legal council records. The records of the association also contain some publications from other sources.

Arranged chronologically and interfiled, except for the minutes of the Executive Committee meetings, 1915-19. Minutes through 1968 are glued into scrapbooks.

The Atlantic States Legal Foundation Records document the environmental not-for-profit organization's pollution reduction and environmental remediation projects and cases throughout the United States and territories.

This series documents ASLF's numerous projects to seek compliance with pollution discharge regulations and remediation of the environment. Projects include the research into and court proceedings of companies, individuals or government officials, and a few ASLF sponsored workshops. The materials in this series contain: correspondence, compliance reports, discharge monitoring reports (DMR), court documents, drawings, intent to sue, laboratory analysis, notes, news clippings, National Discharge Elimination Permit System (NPDES) permits, photographs, quarterly non-compliance reports (QNCR), remediation programs, citizen standing and workshops. The projects are divided into subseries based on geographic regions.

This subseries documents ASLF's projects in the Midwest states, including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin. In the Midwest ASLF sought to clean up the Great Lakes, and the Mississippi River region. The case against Koch Refining Co. in Minnesota, removed a major source of toxins in the Mississippi River and ensured compliance for many years afterwards. In Fort Wayne, Indiana, at the request of local activists ASLF researched DMRs and discovered almost a quarter of Fort Wayne industries' had a history of CWA violations.

The collection consists of inactive records from the University at Albany's Atmospheric Science Research Center.

This collection documents the operations of the Bethlehem Business Women's Club from its inception in 1951 to dissolution in 2023.

This collection contains materials related to the lives of Bill and Andy Spence, including folk and traditional music and materials documenting the Fox Hollow and Old Songs Festivals.

Folk music aficionados Bill and Andy Spence retained photographs, newspaper clippings, posters, schedules, flyers, and audio of the Fox Hollow Festival, of which they were involved in through their Capital District folk organization, Pick'n' and Sing'n' Gather'n' (PSG). The Beers family (Robert, Evelyne, and Martha) of Petersburgh, N.Y. held the Fox Hollow Festival on their family farm celebrating the traditions of folk music and arts every year from 1966 to 1980. The Festival consisted of multiple days packed with folk singing groups, workshops, art showings, activities, entertainment, dancing, games, speakers, crafts, and special guests with camping and other site accommodations upon request. This festival served as inspiration for the Old Songs Festival created in 1981 by Andy. The passing of Robert Beers in May 1972 signaled a shift for the Fox Hollow Festival, and Bill and Andy's last year of participation was 1973. PSG were involved as volunteers with the festival from 1966 to 1973, and Andy resigned from the Fox Hollow Board of Directors in September of that same year.

The Bill Babbitt Collection documents nearly ten years of legal efforts to spare Manny Babbitt's life from execution, and two decades of advocacy activities to try to abolish the death penalty.

The series consists of the contents of Manny Babbitt's cell at the time of his execution in May 1999, materials relating to his time in San Quentin, and documents about his Marine Corps service. This series contains Manny Babbitt's original works, including several poems. There also is an empty cardboard box which housed Manny Babbitt's personal items in his cell. Please note that the dates for the series are not inclusive and the bulk of files date from the 1990s.

Bill Pelke is a leader in the national death penalty abolition movement. This collection documents Bill Pelke's involvement with Journey of Hope...from Violence to Healing, Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation (MVFR), National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty (NCADP), Amnesty International, and other organizations committed to ending capital punishment in the United States.

This series contains supplemental material to the Murder Victims Families For Reconciliation Records collected by Bill Pelke during his tenure as a board member of that organization. Included in this series are administrative records, correspondence, promotional materials, documents relating to Bill Pelkes time as editor of MVFRs newsletter The Voice including drafts and layouts, and folders relating to the Journey of Hope events from 1993-1999 assembled by Bill Pelke.
