Announcement Of Receipient Of Merlin Hathaway Memorial Award To The Top Student Athlete

Announcement that the Merlin Hathaway Memorial Scholarship to the top student athlete has been awarded to Amy Di Micco, captain of the UAlbany field hockey team. The award, a $1,000 scholarship, was established by Eleanor Hathaway, formerly of the School of Education, in memory of her husband, Professor Emeritus Merlin W. Hathaway who worked at the University, 1944-1976. He was professor of Physical Education, the leading force behind the creation of the intercollegiate athletics program, a long-time coach, and the director of Athletics and Physical Education at the University.
