Deal Announced Between University, New York State, And International Sematech

Governor Pataki, during the occasion of a ribbon cutting ceremony at the opening of a new clean room at the Center for Excellence in Nanoelectronics, announced that a deal to bring International SEMATECH (ISMT) North to UAlbany has been signed. ISTM North will concentrate on "extreme ultra-violet (EUV) lithography infrastructure focused on advanced work in three areas - mask blanks, resit, and EUV extensions" at the new state-of-the-art EUV cleanroom." ISTM will provide "technical program definition, execution, management, and staffing, while UAlbany will provide facilities, staffing, and funding leverage."
