U.S. Representative John Sweeney announced a new partnership between IBM, Applied Materials, and Albany NanoTech to conduct research and development at Albany NanoTech. The $300 million, five-year program will begin their cooperation with the 32-nanometer (1/3000 the width of a human hair) computer chip device node. They will also work on developing the 300-mm epitaxial substrates and other advanced technologies.
