Announcement Of $300,000 Gift From Goldie Brenner Swartz, '51 And Her Husband Howard Swartz To Provide Tuition, Room And Board For Visually Impaired Or Disabled Students

Announcement of $300,000 gift from Goldie Brenner Swartz, '51 and her husband Howard Swartz to provide tuition, room and board for visually impaired or disabled students. The gift, and a $12,518 gift from the Class of 2006, were credited to the Inaugural Student Scholarship Fund, which with these two gifts, exceeded the $2 million mark. One million dollars will be used for the Honors College opening in fall 2006 with 150 students, while $700,000 is allocated for need-based student scholarships. The first scholarship from the Swartz gift will be awarded in fall 2007.
