Havidán Rodríguez

On June 21, 2017, the SUNY Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Havidán Rodríguez as the 20th president of the University at Albany. The appointment took effect in mid-September. Rodríguez, then 58, came to the University with 25 years of experience as a leader in higher education. Immediately prior to coming to the University at Albany, he was the founding provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. President Rodríguez also is a respected scholar who studies the socioeconomic impacts of disasters and the economic well-being of minority populations in the United States and Puerto Rico.
