The EOP Student Association Receives Funding

Thirty-seven thousand dollars is provided to the EOP Student Association as part of funding to run cultural, social, and educational activities for the minority community, including theater workshops, a Puerto Rican Cultural Seminar of Writers, film festivals, and guest lectures by Jesse Jackson, Nathan Hare, Dick Gregory, Juan Mari Bras, Charles Fuller, and Muhammad Ali. Furthermore, a Minority Legal Council Fund was set up by the appropriation in order to hire a student lawyer who specializes in cases involving minority populations.
