Governor Hugh Carey Proposes Cutting EOP Stipends

The cuts, made with the aim of eventually eliminating the stipend program altogether, are justified by the increase in federal funding and state Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) awards. The effort is resisted by the Legislative Director for the Student Association of the State University (SASU), David Coyne.
