Ph.D. in English offered. (Self Study Report, 1971, p. H 12) According to the Alumni Quarterly, January 1963, p. 6, SUNYA was the State’s first former teachers college to receive permission from the Board of Regents to offer a liberal arts doctoral program. Ph.D. in Psychology approved.
