A Historical Sketch of the State Normal School Established 1844, at Albany, N.Y. and a History of Its Graduates for the First Thirty-Eight Years, 1844-1884 is published on the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the school. The book was written and financed by President Edward P. Waterbury to prove that the Normal School had done its job educating the teachers of the state.
