Multicultural Internship/Library Education Scholarship (MILES) program initiated to attract a diverse population to the information science profession. The program is a pre-professional internship/masters degree program for minority seniors. The first awards were given out during the 1991/92 academic year to Marcia Fulcher of the Bronx, Scott Hughes of Coeymans, and Simone Freeman of Albany.
