this magazine is a continuation of The Student and Young Tutor (Nov 1846-Oct 1848) and was itself continued by The Student and Family Miscellany; library's copy is inscribed 1850 and uses four different typefaces to appeal to children, teenagers and adults and is attratively bound with spine titles and decoration and front and back cover central decoration stamped in gold on dull green cloth, front and back cover rulings and corner decorations blind-stamped
