The University at Albany's Kids Growing Food (KGF) program host students from Philip Schuyler Elementary School in Albany to share the harvest of their successful garden, sponsored by KGF and the University's School of Social Welfare. The KGF program, started in 1998 with funds from the New York State Attorney General's Office, engaged thousands of New York and Mid-Atlantic region students, teachers, and community volunteers in a wide range of schoolyard food garden projects. KGF is administered by Cornell University's New York Agriculture in the Classroom, which has provided grants to help schools initiate or maintain food gardens on their school campuses or easily accessible off-campus sites.
