CSEA members working in the state's executive branch agencies aren't convinced that Governor David Paterson's proposal to lay off 8,700 workers is going to bring any savings to the state. In fact, it will likely cost the state more with lost productivity, overtime, unemployment benefits and the loss of morale the layoffs could bring to a work force that's already stretched thin.
