Sumi Abedin, a garment worker who survived a factory fire last November (2012) that killed 112 Bangladeshi workers, along with Bangladeshi Labor Activist Kalpona Akter, came to Albany to speak out, urging New York state to adopt a Sweatshop-Free Procurement Policy that includes fire safety measures.
