Primarily outgoing letters and memoranda, along with occasional reports of the President, minutes of Executive Board meetings, and reports on higher education. The most incoming correspondence is included in the files covering the Drescher and Reilly administrations (1984-1993). Infrequently an outgoing letter includes a notation that the incoming letter being responded to is filed under the correspondent's name in the alphabetical files. These files are included in Subgroup IV, Office of the Secretary, Series 5.

This series is arraigned chronologically. The subjects covered in the general correspondence series are diverse and focus on work Abe Bonowitz participated in and conducted for a variety of different organization as a social activist and death penalty abolitionist. Posted letters, organizational mailings, and printed email threads between coworkers, volunteers, and diverse third parties are all represented and serve to paint a picture of the daily work involved in conducting abolition campaigns across the United States. These materials cover a date range from the early 1990s through the early 2010s and their arrangement serves to illustrate how Mr. Bonowitzs work for different groups and organizations often overlapped and informed one another.

This series contains the records of the Columbia County Joint Board. The Columbia County Joint Board, which was chartered in 1947, merged with the Mid-Hudson Joint Board to form the Hudson Valley Area Joint Board in 1957. Ths series contains the main board's meeting minutes, bylaws, and contracts, as well as arbitration documents, bylaws, and constitutions for the local chapters. This series also contains a scrapbook with newspapers and photographs of the board.

Publications within this series are products of the Continuing Education Program (CEP). These publications represent a major function of the CEP through its development of instructional resources for use in social welfare agencies and educational institutions. Topics covered within these publications include income maintenance, education, health and fitness, rehabilitation, corrections, child welfare, gerontology, staff development, public housing, employment, and industrial social work. Please see box 3 folder 16 for the Guide to Continuing Education Program Publications, which lists all publications created up until ca. 1980. This guide also contains additional information about the functions and goals of the CEP. Please note that this series contains only CEP publications; general files relating to the Continuing Education Program are located in the Subject Files series.

During its time on campus, the Class of 1964 witnessed numerous changes. The school name changed from State University of New York College of Education at Albany (September 1, 1959 - October 16, 1961) to the State University of New York College at Albany (October 16, 1961 - August, 1962) to the State University of New York at Albany (August 1962 - Fall 1986). The groundbreaking ceremony for construction on the new Uptown Campus was held in August 1962. In September 1962 the school admitted its first freshmen non-teacher preparatory students as candidates for bachelor of arts degrees in Liberal Arts and Sciences. The 1963 yearbook was the first to be named theTorch. The school newspaper State College News became the State University News in February 1963 and the Albany Student Press in February 1964. In addition, one of the most noticeable changes was the assessment of tuition for the first time in the Fall of 1963. This event and related student protests are chronicled in the yearbooks and Class of 1964 Senior Record.

Tanya Melich served on the United States Commission on Civil Rights New York State Advisory Board beginning in 1972. Included are folders concerning the Asian American hearings in July 1974. These hearings encompassed issues with employment, immigration, education, health care, images and stereotypes, and housing within the Asian American community. She also served on the subcommittee for sex discrimination. There are also materials relating to affirmative action, racism, and economic status.

Series 6 is an assortment of information about various organizations and activities in the Capital Region. The economic and social activities in this series concern issues of poverty, nuclear disarmament, peace, economic conversion and neighborhood improvement. Some of the issues and/or groups are discussed in more detail in other series. There is some rich information and documentation about economic and social action groups in the region like the Neighborhood Action Coalition of Troy (N-ACT), The Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC), The Clean Air/Transportation Committee (CA/T), Schenectady 2000, and the Saratoga Peace Alliance (SPA). There is also oversized material available in this series of maps that refer to the Schenectady 2000 development project.
