Series 5 contains reference materials that Murder Victims' Families for Reconciliation have used in their fight against the death penalty. While many of the materials broadly deal with the death penalty, there are a number of items that record the work of other anti-death penalty advocates and organizations. Along with these materials, there are also documents relating to court proceedings and legislative hearings. Contained in this series are newspaper clippings, press releases, newsletters, flyers, pamphlets, booklets, brochures, manuscripts, transcripts, drafts, correspondence, court proceedings, legislative bills, amici curiae, floppy disks, zip disks, dvds, cds, and vhs tapes.

Parent Support, 1991-1999 0.66 cubic ft.

The Parent Support series includes documents related to MHANYS programs aimed at providing support to parents with psychiatric disabilities or parents of children with psychiatric disabilities, especially in relation to enhancing families. Includes Families Together, a publication by MHANYS for families of children with special emotional, social, and behavioral needs; Forum - presentations related to providing support to parents with psychiatric problems; a proposal for MHANYS Parents with Psychiatric Disabilities Support (PPDS) program aimed at helping people with psychiatric disabilities who have become parents to raise their children; documents regarding New York State's Vocational and Educational Activities for Students with Disabilities (VESID) program; and external publications and reports on family issues.

The bulk of this series consists of executive board meeting kits, which contain all material furnished to board members in advance of a scheduled meeting. This material usually includes a proposed agenda and minutes from the previous meeting for approval. Also included are correspondence and memos related to the meeting and to issues on the proposed agenda, as well as committee reports addressed to the president and executive board. Materials that were sometimes included are policy documents, financial documents and drafts of proposed annual budgets, and ethics grievance petitions. The Executive Board could choose to hear appeals of cases that had been previously decided by the Ethics Committee. A few folders contain handwritten notes taken at the meetings.

The audio tapes include one reel-to-reel tape labeled Dissent, an interview with Pachter about Hannah Arendt, two cassettes (1 side each) of "Heinz Pachter – Gedenken I and II," and two cassettes (4 sides) of Pachter's Memoirs of an Exile. Memoirs of an Exile Tape 1 begins with Weimar on side one and side two features the end of Weimar/beginning of Spain. The second tape begins with France/Spain and finishes with Spain on the second side. The folders contain proofs of Socialism in History.

This series consists of research papers, essays and theses written by students in master's programs at GPSA. The majority of the papers are single works, but there are two items that contain multiple student papers on single themes. These are Student Papers on Federal Programs Volumes 1 & 2 - PA 500 Class, Spring 1975 and Personnel Administration in the State of New York Volumes I & 2, Spring 1967.

This series contains both the official CSEA newspaper for its members and smaller newsletters which focus upon a specific segment of membership. The official newspaper chronicles CSEA activities such as scholarship funds, solidarity marches, and the individual achievements of members. Originally entitled The Civil Service Leader the name was changed to The Public Sector in 1978 and to The Work Force 20 years later. The early editions of the newspaper focused primarily on the maintenance of wages and benefits. They also listed numerous job vacancies throughout New York State and the nation.

This series was created by the Association's Narcotics Committee, which apparently kept its records separate from other material generated by members of the Board of Directors. It contains reports, pamphlets, articles, brochures, memoranda, news clippings, and some correspondence. Among the subjects covered are: the New York State [?] Narcotics Addiction Control Commission, drug rehabilitation programs, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, and methadone maintenance programs.
