Correspondence contained in this series deal with meeting and program planning, special events and meetings, invitations to speakers, letters of acceptance, preparations for meetings, as well as some meeting minutes. The NYPWA corresponded with all county social services offices and related officials. These dates are not inclusive as this series does not represent the only correspondence contained in the collection. Correspondence are represented in every series.

Series 2 consists of publications from SUNY, including various newsletters, published meeting minutes, and annual reports. Also included in Subject Files is correspondence from various educational organizations outside of the SUNY system, papers from the SASU, and studies regarding higher education systems in New York and across the country.

Subject Files, 1953-1989 3.6 cubic ft.

The file name may be either the administrative unit or function within CACC or the external event or organization with which the materials are primarily concerned. Commonly included records are statements of association with external organizations; agendas for special events; documentation of legal procedures for incorporation of an affiliated organization; prominent events in history and CACC departments and committees. Subject files on associated or affiliated organizations include: Albany Youth Council; regional schools, hospitals and nursing homes; Chapel House; food pantries; Horizon House; Institute for Christian Living; Jail Ministries; NYS Council of Churches; and South Mall Towers.

Senate Files, 1914-1948 7.2 cubic ft.

Graves spent 14 years in the New York State Senate. This series contains political, legislative and personal correspondence sometimes separated by subject, author or location and sometimes filed together in less defined groupings. Also included in this series are Senate bills, campaign materials, reference materials, and political and civic organization materials. As she was no longer in the Assembly and campaigning for a seat in the Senate, Graves' unsuccessful 1932 Senate campaign materials are part of this collection.

Writings, 1937-1980 2.5 cubic ft.

In this series are manuscripts and drafts of articles and book chapters written by Rienow, both alone and in cooperation with his wife. In many cases there are multiple drafts of the same article. Many of the drafts include handwritten corrections and annotations by Rienow. These files also include clippings and handwritten notes used in the creation of drafts and manuscripts, as well as occasional correspondence with publishers. Most of the writings relate to Rienow's political science or environmental interests. These include articles on the American standard of living and nuclear fallout, and contributions to the Book of Knowledge and the World Book Encyclopedia on United States government. A number of manuscripts, many of which were co-authored with Leona Train Rienow, are satirical looks at American and European society, including travel articles such as "What! No Lather?" Also found in this series are several drafts of Leona Train Rienow's 1970 novel The Year of the Last Eagle, to which Robert Rienow contributed, as well as a draft of her 1948 novel The Bewitched Caverns.

The bulk of the records consist of faculty meeting minutes and agendas from 1965-1996 with a gap in records from 1972-1976. Also included are copies of minutes and agendas that are annotated by the current dean. Minutes and agendas include supporting documents used in the meetings, as well as correspondence and memoranda from the dean relating to issues raised in meetings or to be considered at future meetings. Other materials include yearly faculty activity reports that outline scholarship and service completed by faculty as well as materials related to summer faculty retreats including correspondence, planning documents, and materials generated at the retreat.

The social activism series includes information regarding Vera Michelson's activism with organizations outside of the Capital District Coalition against Apartheid and Racism. This series includes records relating to Cure Violence, SNUG, Urban Grief, and ROOTS (Re-Entry Opportunities and Orientation Toward Success). Michelson devoted her life to these social activism organizations, which often intersected in their missions to address racial discrimination and gun violence in the Capital District. This series includes meeting minutes, correspondence, newspaper articles, and ephemera from the various organizations.

Series 3 contains musical scores for many of Kastle's works. The series is broken down into subseries according to the six major instrumental compositions found in this collection. Each subseries usually contains a manuscript score, while some contain a published score. Subseries 3, Concerto No. 1, is the only subseries to contain Musicians' parts and tissues of parts.
