This subseries consists primarily of letters of election and acceptance to the members of the Board of Directors of CWG. More substantive correspondence and some newsclippings on topics such as the establishment of the CWG, CWG training programs, workshops and research issues on comparable worth, career mobility and career ladders in State Government, discrimination, and Day Care Centers for State employees can be found in the following Board Member files: Karen Burnstein, Frances Berko, William McGowan, Robert E. Quinn, Delores Schmidt, Aldo Baaklini, Linda Tarr-Whelan, Pamela Tate and Anne Nelson. These files contain both correspondence to and from these Board members.

The formation and behavior of snow and ice crystals were a lifelong interest of Schaefer's, and in his time at General Electric he was able to focus on the subject during the World War II years as ice related to the safety of U.S. Air Force planes. Schaefer and Irving Langmuir's interest in that topic grew as a result of their World War II-era contract work with the military, and the experiments they conducted after the war's end led directly to their Project Cirrus contract in 1947—an undertaking so extensive that their work in that area merited its own series in this collection. Much of their foundational work in snow and ice composition and behavior was grounded in observations and experiments conducted on Mount Washington in New Hampshire. Schaefer discovered during this time that ice crystals and snowflakes could be captured and observed using Formvar plastic. Using this method, he documented very specific data about ice and snow before creating some of the first replicas of specific snowflake shapes. The work of Schaefer and his colleagues regarding ice research includes handwritten notes, drawings, charts, photographs, reports, and correspondence specific to ice, snow, and Mount Washington.

This collection is made up of video materials documenting the history of the University. This series includes recordings of University Senate meetings, convocations, dedications and other campus and community events related to the University and Albany more broadly.

This subseries consists of correspondence, agendas, and minutes of the Executive Committee of the CWG Board of Directors. The major topics included are bylaws, nominations to the Board, funding, the CWG New York City project (1980-81), and pay equity study (1979-81), and training programs.

This sub-series is made up of the photographic materials in the Creative Services series. It consists of contact sheets, negatives and photographic prints. Also includes a largely complete alphabetical series of faculty portraits from the period of 1991-1997.

This subseries consists of quarterly reports of the Board of Directors which include agendas and minutes, the Director's Report to the BD, and the Financial Report. Some contain bylaws, but no financial report. Minutes are those of the previous meeting. Missing are the reports for March, 1979 and September, 1983. Topics covered in these reports include comparable worth/pay equity (1979-83), career mobility (1979-83), sexual harassment (1980-83), affirmative action, office technology, race and sex discrimination, and; CWG staffing, training programs, public education/networking and fund raising. This subseries also includes Board Lists for 1980, 1981 and 1982.

This subseries consists of correspondence - letters and memoranda sent to the members of the Board. Topics covered include changes in the CWG Board, BM conflicts of interest, CWG mission, nominations/elections to the Board, grants and donations, and issues such as career ladders, pay equity, rape legislation, and NYC Advisor Program. This subseries also includes the records of the Executive - Ad Hoc Advisory Committee consisting of memoranda and letters on funding and the establishment of the CWG and lists of members of the Committee and Board.

This collection holds the minutes of the monthly meetings of the Executive Committee to the State Normal School. The entires in these two volumes detail some aspects of the school's budget, listed graduates of each sememster and includes a commencement program from that semester. The minutes also include basic school administration like the hiring and firing of professors, or proposed maintenence and expansion of the school's buildings. For the second volume there is a seperate book acting as an index to major people and events at the Normal School from 1880 to 1909.

This series includes published and unpublished reports used in seminars and self-help programs. The reports cover such problems as discrimination, pay equity, understanding affirmative action, bridge jobs in New York State government and hiring policies in New York City.

Working papers are developed to support a specific area of concern and are then used in seminars and special forum programs by which the center can help educate women. They report on admission of women in medical school, comparable worth, pay equity and sex-segregated career ladders.

Curricula are used as a teaching tool in seminars and training sessions.

These guidebooks are used to help women deal with workplace problems and changes in the problem areas.

The Institute is held across the state to educate women in areas of concern such as comparable worth and discrimination.

Contains materials used by Joe Norton in preparation for teaching classes. Materials include notes, exams, worksheets, papers, and research related to building syllabi.

This sub-series consists of scrapbooks compiled by the sorority over the course of 14 academic years. Academic years included in this sub-series are 1952-1953, 1956-1957, 1957-1958, 1961-1962, 1962-1963, 1963-1964, 1966-1967, 1968-1969, 1969-1970, 1970-1971, 1971-1972, 1974-1975, 1977-1978, and 1991-1992. Included in these scrapbooks are photographs of sorority life, newspaper articles, invitations to special events, correspondence, greeting cards, and announcements.

This sub-series consists of scrapbooks compiled for Psi Gamma reunions. These scrapbooks commemorate the 1956, the 1988, and the 1995 reunions. Included in these scrapbooks are photographs taken at anniversaries, pictures of sorority life over the past hundred years, and facsimiles of composite photos taken from the State College yearbooks.

This sub-series consists of scrapbooks compiled by individual members of Psi Gamma Sorority. Items in this sub-series include photographs, newspaper articles, correspondence, invitations to social events, pins and other jewelry, and sorority familytree Scrapbooks were donated to the sorority by Helen Klady McCuen ('28), Bertha Buhl Covell ('33), Margaret Schlott Koeler ('45), and Kerry Ann White ('55). Included is one file of loose photos and negatives.

This sub-series contains correspondence, information sheets, reports, and photographs. From 1963 through 1966, Psi Gamma sorority sponsored a Greek child named Gregory Stratakis through Foster Parents' Plan, Inc.. In 1966, they began sponsoring another Greek child named Pavlos Mamalakis, whom they continued to sponsor through 1972. This scrapbook documents the correspondence between the sorority, their foster children, and Foster Parents' Plan, Inc.

This sub series contains the records of Joseph Norton's employment with and administration of the Department of Counseling and Personnel Services at SUNY Albany. This includes professional memberships and certifications, university service and committee records, employment records, official forms and documentation, and policy documents.

This sub-series contains files that pertain to the Athletics Department of UAlbany as a whole, including: award ceremony and hall of fame programs; program-wide rosters, reports, records, and game notes; staff member files; fundraiser information; calendars and programs; recruitment initiatives; and department handbooks and directories.

The inspiration for Schaefer's work with cloud seeding began during his experiments with Irving Langmuir during World War II. At that time they were under contract with the military for other weather-related reasons, but their research led them to wonder about the possibilities of controlling weather beyond military needs. Schaefer accomplished some of his most important foundational work with cloud seeding in 1946, before General Electric joined in another contract with the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Army Signal Corps. These records document some of Schaefer's initial work with cloud seeding, before the official birth of Project Cirrus. Researchers will also find about a dozen files on Project Blowdown, a cloud seeding operation conducted in Honduras to aid the United Fruit Company.

Includes minutes, committee reports, correspondence and by-laws of the Faculty Council. Bound with the minutes of the Faculty Council, 1944-47, are minutes of the Faculty-Administration Council. Committees of the Faculty Council included the Committee on Academic Freedom, the Community Liaison Committee, the Faculty Welfare and Obligations Committee, the Social Affairs Committee, the Elections Committee, and the Policies of Promotion, Tenure and Dismissal Committee (Faculty Handbook, 1962, p. 16). The functions of the Faculty Council and its committees were transferred to the Faculty Senate in 1966.
