This collection is made up of video materials documenting the history of the University. This series includes recordings of University Senate meetings, convocations, dedications and other campus and community events related to the University and Albany more broadly.

These records document the general fundraising activities of NYSSAC. Consisting primarily of grant applications and related documents for funding of general expenses, they also include information on projects that were not funded and therefore did not generate any further records. Fiscal statistics, articles on NYSSAC activity and correspondence pertaining to fundraising are also found here. Specific projects' fundraising activities are documented in the sub-series relating to them. Prominent grantors include Chemical Bank, New York Foundation, and the Campaign for Human Development Foundation.
These records document administrative work associated with managing and running the organization. They include a variety of materials, including office leases, fiscal records, personnel files and several photographs of Bonnie Ray at public events.
These records document the administration of the NYSSAC Patients' Rights Project. This was an ongoing effort to act as a health care advocate for seniors and other patients. The project deals specifically with Medicare and Medicaid claims disputes, DRG discharge disputes, but also deals with other common problems, promoting a patients' rights hotline, an informational hotline, and legal advocacy. Records include grant applications and background materials, correspondence, and a final report on the DRG Monitoring Project/Complaint Line at Community Action for Legal Services (CALS).
These records, which constitute the bulk of the collection, consist of informational and issue files relating to health care topics affecting seniors in New York State. Significant topics addressed include Medicare, Medicaid, Medigap, Long-Term Care, Nursing Homes, DRG (Diagnosis-Related Groups), PROs (Peer-Review Organizations), HMO (Health Maintenance Organizations), the IPRO (Island Peer Review Organization), and others. Files hold information on state and federal health care legislation, the campaign for a national health care system in 1992-1993, the fight for prescription drug coverage for seniors in the state (EPIC) in 1986, and other issues. They include testimonies given before legislative bodies, reports, articles, booklets, legislative bulletins, memorandums, manuals, training material, and correspondence on various topics.
Files include material on a variety of issues important to New York seniors in the areas of law, taxes, independent living and in-home care, elder abuse, the Right to Die Campaign, age discrimination and continuing education. NYSSAC's work with other groups such as the Capital Area Consortium on Aging and Disability, the Citizens' Utility Board and the State Office of the Aging's Hunger Action Network are documented in files on conferences, workshops and meetings. Included are testimonies given on major issues before legislative bodies, a memorial booklet for activist Rose Kryzak containing a tribute from Governor Mario Cuomo, and various correspondence.
The Administration subseries includes: directories listing members of the MHANYS board of directors and identifying MHANYS local chapters across New York State; manuals and handbooks detailing duties of members of the Board of Directors; correspondence to and from board members; and a description of a board retreat.
Minutes of MHANYS Board of Directors 1960-1999 covering policies of MHANYS, organizational and personnel issues, relations among MHANYS and its affiliates and the National Association of Mental Health, and various issues regarding advocacy of policies regarding mental illness.
