The NOW-NYS Issues series contains journal articles, newspaper clippings, legislative and task force memoranda, committee and research reports, newsletters, leaflets and fliers, correspondence with NOW-NYS presidents and testimony at public hearings and legal proceedings. The series also contains posters and announcements of events, state and federal laws and proposed bills relating to discrimination and gender bias in education, labor, politics, abortion, women's health care, birth control issues, domestic relations (1981-1985), the Equal Rights Amendment, lesbian and gay rights, and the greater women's movement.

The Subject Files of the New York State Chapter of the National Organization for Women include internal and external correspondence, legal materials, memoranda, clippings, news releases, mailings, pamphlets, booklets, minutes, agendas, financial reports, by-laws, and more. The Subject Files document the structure, function, and activities of the state and local chapters. Present are issues of concern to NOW-NYS on subjects including, but not limited to, abortion and reproductive rights, battered women and domestic violence, children, politics, education (including educational opportunities for women, sexual discrimination), racism, lesbian and gay rights, job training, the Equal Rights Amendment and employment.

The NOW-NYS Feminist Publications Collection series contains periodicals and journals issued by a wide range of women's and feminist groups. Feminist publications include Speak Out (1972-1977), the Spokeswoman (1970-1977), and the Feminist Majority (1972-1998, with gaps), dealing with gay and lesbian rights, reproductive rights, abortion, rape and radical political ideology. The series also includes periodicals dealing with reproductive health care and civil rights such as Family Planning/Population Reporter (1975-1977) and Response to Violence and Sexual Abuse in the Family (1979-1981) Civil Rights Quarterly-Perspectives (1981).
