The series is arranged in three sub-series: general correspondence of Eugen Spiro, 1903-1913 and 1941-1972; correspondence with owners and subjects of Spiro paintings; and correspondence of Lilly Spiro, primarily dating from the years after Eugen's death, 1972-1985. Among the noteworthy correspondents are: Tilla Durieux, Albert Einstein, George Grosz, Theodor Heuss, Otto Loewi, Thomas Mann, Dimitri Mitropoulos, Albert Schweitzer and Gottfried Reinhard Treviranus.

This collection documents the day-to-day activities of Council 82, the New York State Law Enforcement Officers Union, during its first two decades of existence.

Contains T.U.F.C.O. charges and counter charges (1984), authorization card incidents (1984), and organizational activities (1985). T.U.F.C.O. challenged Council 82 as the exclusive bargaining representative for security and law enforcement personnel. Council 82 launched a counterattack on T.U.F.C.O. by developing anti-T.U.F.C.O. literature, a contest entitled, "Why I don't like T.U.F.C.0." and complaints filed against T.U.F.C.O. for using a logo similar to that of Council 82. Additional anti-T.U.F.C.O. materials Include sketches, cartoons, and the T.U.F.C.O. Constitution.

Materials relating to the application of the Pyramid Crossgates Company to the New York State DEC and DOT for permits to build the Crossgates Regional Shopping Mall in the Albany Pine Bush.

The series includes draft environmental impact statements, responses and decisions. Maps and photographs of the actual area and of models are also included. Clippings are from newspapers and periodicals and deal with the application, the Albany Pine Bush, and the opening of the shopping mall.

The Daniel Evan Button Papers contain Button's records of his terms as a U.S. Representative of the 29th Congressional District of New York.

This series contains correspondence regarding specific subjects during Button's time as a U.S. Representative. Many of his constituents ask him for White House flags and agricultural yearbooks, but there are other notable topics as well. These include Albany's Arbor Hill neighborhood (attempts to better the community), General Electric, Laos, Cambodia, protest letters, requests for Congressional intervention, questions about HUAC, the Chicago 7, Vietnam, the Cold War, and President Richard Nixon.

The David C. Baldus Papers document the distinguished legal research career of David C. Baldus, which includes the most sophisticated challenges to capital punishment in the United States since the reinstatement of the Death Penalty in 1976. Included is material from the Georgia Charging & Sentencing Study, which was used as evidence in the McCleskey v. Kemp (1987) decision. Similar studies involving capital sentencing in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and the U.S. Military are also detailed, as is Baldus's formal reports to the supreme courts of a number of other states. Also present is material documenting Baldus's long career as the Joseph B. Tye Professor of Law at the University of Iowa Law School. This includes teaching material, presentations, publications, and material documenting faculty service.

This series contains all of Professor Baldus Georgia material. In particular the McCleskey v. Zant and McCleskey v. Kemp cases in Georgia.

The David Von Drehle Papers contain information on the death penalty, primarily in Florida. Von Drehle compiled the materials while researching his 1995 book Among the Lowest of the Dead: Inside Death Row.

This collection contains records from the period in which Robert Morris served as Dean of the University College (1966-1970) and Dean of Undergraduate Studies (1970- roughly 1977).
